Four Songs of Christmas Magic From Joey English

Knoxville bands/artists have been coming down the chimney with some great holiday releases this year. Joey English has the latest such release with his three-song set titled Christmas On My Roof. It kicks off with a wonderful Christmas original and title track. Next is a beautifully melancholy rendition of "I'll Be Home For Christmas." Third on the track list is "Still Still Still," a German tune that you certainly don't need to be fluent in German to enjoy. The EP closes with a dreamy duet featuring Ashley Roxanne Murray of the Christmas standard "What Child Is This." All of these songs can be best enjoyed next to a crackling fire.

"The instinctual inclination during winter is to hoard, to conserve, to go inward. Just look outside, nature demonstrates this well enough. What a twist we put on it through the act of giving -- it's like breathing underwater, or brightening the long dark nights with colorful Christmas lights. I hope this little three-songer is somehow part of that cycle." - Joey English

Adeem The Artist Enlists A 'Scruffy Choir' For New Holiday Song "Scruffy Little Christmas"

I'm such a sucker for holiday songs with sleighbells and horns and any song that mentions Knoxville landmarks. Adeem The Artist's "Scruffy Little Christmas" has both and it's currently making me melt like the fraser fir Christmas tree scented candle burning right next to me as I type this.

The song features Dale Mackey, whom you may know from Dale's Fried Pies, on trumpet as well as a caroling choir of friends. It's credited as the "Scruffy Choir" and it includes Mackey, George Middlebrooks, Shawn Pointer, James Kolpack, Jody Collins, Robert Felker, Meg Dooley, and Hannah Bingham.

The artwork was done by Jody Collins aka Feral Giant

"Merry Christmas, you scruffy animals in The Pub and The Pilot Light."

Baron Davis' Black Santa Company Put Together A Spectacular Holiday Mixtape

The 15-track Winter Wonderland Mixtape released by The Black Santa Company is an absolute Christmas miracle.

The Black Santa Company was founded by former NBA standout Baron Davis who can be seen here dunking on Andrei Kirilenko and then inexplicably raising his jersey up to his chin.

The Black Santa Company's mission is to "inspire the world by building diverse characters and telling contemporary stories that reflect the cultural change and future we want to build for ourselves and the next generations to come."

"I’m proud to share this @blacksantamixtape. It's to give These Holidays some new characters and flavor. Hope you enjoy and spread the word, said Davis as he announced the mixtape on Twitter.
