William Wild Releases New Single, Song Featured In Film Starring Jeremy Renner

Knoxville's own William Wild has a lot going on right now. We thought we'd consolidate the updates into one post, you're one-stop shop for all things William Wild!

We'll start with our favorite bit of news to get from bands we love. There's new music to listen to! William Wild released On an Island, the first track from a forthcoming full-length record. It's so incredibly chill, and the tasteful horns and keys complimenting Garrett Sale's vocals are just perfect. With the release of this song came an explanation of where the inspiration came from:

‘On an Island’ is a song about a very specific moment on tour last year. A moment of clarity within a tornado of new experiences and big questions that I did/do not understand. I don’t remember what I was thinking about at the time, but I vividly remember the safety and weightless of my emotional state. I did everything I could on this track to preserve that moment into a recording. I hope you like it.

Another exciting bit of news for WW is that their song "Feather" the closing track from their 2014 self-titled record is featured in the new thriller Wind River starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. The song is featured in the closing credits. Wind River won Best Director for Tyler Sheridan at this year's Cannes Film Festival. It's out now in select theaters.

Finally, the William Wild guys are on tour. They kicked things off at Sugarlands on Friday, and they'll be all over the eastern United States over the next month including Johnson City on 8/19.

To keep up with William Wild for more updates, you can like them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram, and get ready for that full-length record coming up!
